The yoga studio at The Movement Center is once again honored to be recognized as the Best Yoga Studio/Sanctuary by Natural Awakenings Magazine. We are grateful that our students have this experience and are moved to share it publicly through votes and social media. Our approach is simple; care for each student’s best health and incorporate the history and deep practice of hatha yoga. The focus for both teachers and students supports our base teachings at TMC of: Contact, Alignment & Flow.
In addition to our daily hatha yoga classes, in 2014 we offered yoga for families, prenatal classes, Qigong, and specialty workshops in Feldenkrais and yoga therapy. We were pleased to host guest instructors such as Sally Kempton, Swami Dayananda and Darren Rhodes. We are also proud to have graduated 33 new Yoga Instructors from our annual 200 Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program.
If you are in the greater Portland, OR area, we encourage you to take advantage of the many programs available. If you are not in the area, please consider finding the perfect yoga studio in your area. There are many forms of yoga, with their roots being the core practice of hatha yoga. In future newsletters we’ll list some of the key elements to consider when selecting the best facility and teacher for you.
